Designed specifically for digital electronics interface, the National Instruments 778988-01 digital waveform device is a flexible digital waveform generator and analyzer that is part of the PCI-6541 Model series. It is intended to sample digital waveforms at rates up to 50 MHz, supporting common transistor-to-transistor logic (TTL) voltage levels. It has 32 single-ended digital ports.
Along with deep onboard memory, triggering, and pattern sequencing features, this device has excellent synchronization capabilities. Logical levels between 5.0 and 1.8 V can be easily interfaced with by users using the NI-HSDIO driver. Further improving user freedom and control is the NI Digital Waveform Editor software, which makes it easier to create and modify digital waveforms.
The 778988-01 allows for accurate manipulation and analysis of digital data thanks to its 32 channels, each of which has per-channel direction control. Timing configurations are made flexible by the device's support for several clock sources, such as an external CLK IN, an inbuilt clock, and STROBE. The sample clock frequencies span 48 Hz to 50 MHz to accommodate a variety of application requirements.
With a resolution of 0.4 percent of the clock period, the 778988-01 provides features such data delay capabilities reaching 25 MHz for high-performance testing.
