National Instruments 785068-01 PXI Displacement Input Module 

National Instruments part number 785068-01 is an identifying part number for the PXIe-4340, a PXI Displacement Input Module. This module is equipped with 4 channels 16-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 25.6 kS/S per channel. It is a filtered analog input module designed for AC linear variable differential transformer (LVDT), AC rotary variable differential transformer (RVDT), resolver, and synchro measurements. It supports 4-, 5-, and 6-wire LVDT and RVDT configurations. Each analog input is sampled simultaneously, with the ability to independently set the excitation frequency and voltage for each channel. All four analog input channels can be sampled simultaneously up to the maximum sample rate. 

The module features diagnostic capabilities such as self-calibration, overcurrent detection, and open coil detection. The included NI-DAQmx driver simplifies hardware configuration and measurement. The 785068-01 Displacement Input Module features a built-in remote sensor system that continuously adjusts for errors in excitation leads. This system is particularly important for applications involving long wires and/or small gauge wires, which have higher resistance. 

The remote sensor also senses the excitation of synchronized channels, enabling the 785068-01 to accurately measure ratios across channels for sensors. This Displacement Module has a Self-Calibration feature that adjusts radiometric gain and offset. This feature cancels out the drift of the analog motherboard. It also nulls the DC component of the excitation source and adjusts the amplitude against an internal reference.

The excitation type is a constant differential voltage (balanced), ensuring consistent and accurate signal delivery. For enhanced durability and protection, the excitation system can withstand up to ±30 V, safeguarding against potential over-voltage situations. The output impedance of 3 Ω further supports stable and reliable performance, ensuring the excitation signals are delivered with minimal interference.
