National Instruments PXI-2172 Digital Video Analyzer
Designed for PXI chassis, the National Instruments NI PXI-2172 is a Digital Video Analyzer. This Analyzer enables the NI VMS test system to receive HDMI grade digital video signals and to perform their analysis. The NI PXI-2172 serves as an interface between digital I/O modules and an HDMI source. This module comes equipped with a 19-pin HDMI connector. For video, it has two 68-pin digital interface VHDCI connectors, one small-geometry connector for audio, and a CEC output as well.
The NI PXI-2172 offers the scrambling of the HDCP content to satisfy robustness and safety requirements as defined by different HDCP license holders. One out of its two VHDCI connectors acts as the primary (A) connector that includes the control interface between NI PXI-2172 and NI VMS and supports sourcing of up to 32 bits of video. The VHDCI interfaces can be used for interconnection to a DIO module through the 0.5 m shielded cable. For audio acquisition, the user can connect the Digital Video Analyzer to any R-series module.
This Analyzer also offers DDC clock buffered outputs and data to enable monitoring of the DDC traffic. The NI PXI-2172 is capable of Plug Detect (HPD) operations. These HPD operations can be utilized to re-authenticate the HDCP data or to inform the connected HDMI component that the EDID is being resent. This interface supports up to 225 MHz TMDS clock rate maximum and a pixel clock rate of 165 MHz maximum. In addition, the PXI-2172 supports 6 channels DSD or up to 8 channels of I2S audio.
PXI-2172 Legacy Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
