National Instruments PXI-8463/1 CAN Network Interface
The NI PXI-8463/1 (Part Number: 778780-01) is a single-cable controller (CAN) network interface that associates the CAN controller to the physical bus cables. The boards contain the physical layers PCI and PXI. They are inside fueled (from the plates) through a DC-DC converter and optically disconnected up to 500 V. This protection secures the user’s NI-CAN equipment and the PC on which it is introduced from high voltage crests on the CAN bus. For PCMCIA-CAN cards, the physical layer is executed inside the wire. The cables can be sustained inside (from the host PC) through an on-board DC-DC converter or remotely (from the CAN bus) through a voltage controller. PCMCIA-CAN physical layers are incorporated with the PCMCIA interfaces.
This model incorporates the National Instruments CAN Device Simulator. When communicating with NI CAN and data acquisition (DAQ) equipment on a PC, this simulator gives a tool to exhibit the ideas of CAN communication, DAQ, and CAN/DAQ synchronization. The NI CAN Device Simulator has a capacity generator, one high-speed CAN interface, one rapid CAN screen connector, a 68-stick DAQ connector, access to the DAQ interface TRIG1, TRIG2, and FREQOUT pins, and advanced input switches.
The NI PXI-8463/1 PXI-CAN Interface also offers a Philips SJA1000 CAN controller that executes the typical ISO 11898 CAN function and offers extra usefulness to help the improvement of the framework, including listen-only mode, rest/wake-up mode, access to the mistake counter, and self-gathering mode.
PXI-8463/1 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the interface will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
