National Instruments 781622-01 PXIe Chassis

The National Instruments 781622-01 PXI Chassis serves as an identifying part number for the PXIe 1078 Model series. Engineered with versatility in mind, this chassis accommodates a variety of test and measurement applications, integrating a PCI Express connection to every slot on its backplane.

The 781622-01 is made to accommodate up to nine slots and is compatible with PXI-1/CompactPCI hybrid slot-compatible modules, 3U PXI Express, and Compact PCI Express. Its architecture consists of five hybrid peripheral slots connected via a PCI Express switch, allowing x1 links to the system through an x4 connection, and three PXI Express peripheral slots directly linked to the system slot via x1 connections. Additionally, a 32-bit, 33 MHz PCI link is included in each hybrid slot.

Control and processing units can be seamlessly integrated with this chassis due to its compatibility with a 4-slot wide PXI Express embedded controller. It may be used in a variety of industrial environments due to its compact and robust construction and universal AC input. The chassis has an auto/high temperature-controlled fan speed mechanism to effectively dissipate heat and minimize noise while maintaining optimal operating conditions.

The chassis has an effective cooling system with a 38.25 W per-slot cooling capability. Effective heat dissipation from modules is ensured by forced air circulation, which is made possible by two 150 CFM fans with a High/Auto speed choice. With the cooling intake located at the bottom of the chassis and the exhaust coming through the right side, back, and top, the airflow direction is bottom-up. Integrated fans in the power supply cooling system pull air in from the left and front and release it via the back.
