The powerful hardware configuration of this Controller makes it a viable solution for a broad range of intensive applications. The NI PXI-8186 comes equipped with a 2.2 GHz Pentium 4-M CPU. This PXI Controller has 512 KB on-die cache, 256 MB of RAM and a 30 GB hard drive.
To deliver realistic, intense 3D graphics, fast rendering, high detail, and smooth motion, the PXI 8186 Controller features an integrated Intel Extreme Graphics core. Thus, the user will not need an additional video card. This Controller utilizes double-data-rate SDRAM (DDR-SDRAM). The SDRAM doubles memory bandwidth since it transfers data twice per cycle. The NI PXI 8186 comes equipped with one 10/100BaseTX Port, one IEEE 1284 Parallel Port, one PCI-GPIB/TNT Port, two USB 2.0 Ports, one PS/2 connector, two Serial Ports, and a 2.5 in., 9.5 mm 30 GB Internal Hard Drive.
The standard version of the NI PXI 8186 Embedded Controller has an operating temperature of 5 to 40 °C. However, this PXI Controller is also offered in the extended-temperature version (Part Number: 778842-01), which has an operating temperature of 0 to 55 °C.
