National Instruments PXIe-6591 PXI High-Speed Serial Instrument
The National Instruments PXIe-6591 (Part Number: 783638-01) High-Speed Serial Instrument is intended for engineers who need to verify, interface, and test serial protocols. It incorporates an FPGA Xilinx Kintex-7 to actualize a few rapid serial protocols and is programmable with the LabVIEW Module FPGA for maximum reuse and application-specific personalization. The NI PXIe-6591 exploits FPGA multigigabit transceivers and up to eight TX and RX lines. Notwithstanding the fast serial lines, the PXIe-6591 has digital I/O signals that help a few logic families with directional control per line and per cycle. The NI PXIe-6591 high-speed serial signals are routed specifically from the Kintex-7 FPGA pins to the PORT 0 and PORT 1 connector pins utilizing a 100 nF AC-coupling capacitor.
The PXIe 6591 comes with a Socketed CLIP that enables the user to insert HDL IP into an FPGA target, empowering VHDL code to communicate directly with an FPGA VI. The Socketed CLIP additionally enables the CLIP to communicate specifically with hardware outside the FPGA. On the front board active, pointer's red LED turns on when this signal is driven high. The CLIP's entrance to this LED might be briefly superseded to indicate mistake conditions, temperature faults, and power issues. This signal is molded with the pulse stretcher to ensure a base statement time of 100 ms to consent to PXI rules and to encourage visual recognition. The user can drive this signal nonconcurrently if they provide 50 ns affirmation. The user can also drive this signal synchronously for a base 1 cycle of SocketClk40.
