National Instruments 778572-31 PXI Matrix Switch Module

The part number 778572-31 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the PXI-2531 PXI Matrix Switch Module. This module has been built with configurable methods that enables the module to connect and switch signals, such as the 1-wire 4 × 128 matrix, 1-wire 8 × 64 matrix, 1-wire dual 4 × 64 matrix and 1-wire dual 8 × 32 matrix. The 778572-31 supports maximum switching voltage of 60 VDC, 30 VAC rms channel to channel and 60 VDC, 30 VAC rms, CAT I channel to ground. It has maximum switching power of 10 W per channel and a maximum current of 0.5 A per channel with a DC path resistance of less than 1 Ω during the module's first operation and ≥2 Ω during overtime wear outs of the module.

The input source trigger signals of the 778572-31 PXI Matrix Switch Module can be routed to trigger lines 0 through 7 with a minimum pulse width of 150 ns. These trigger lines in a module are used for system synchronization and system coordination when connected with other modules while the destination output trigger signals can be routed to trigger lines 0 through 7 with a pulse width of 1 μs to 62 μs. 

The PXI module is designed as a single-slot 3U (3 unit) module compatible with PXI (PCI extensions for Instrumentation) or cPCI (CompactPCI) systems. Its physical dimensions are 21.6 cm × 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm (8.5 × 0.8 × 5.1 in.) and weighs 454 g (1 lb). To power this module, 10 W of power is required at 5 V and 2 W at 3.3 V. The 778572-31 module incorporates a relay type "reed" with rhodium contact that ensures reliable and efficient operation of the application.  

To operate this module it is recommended by the manufacturer to use it in an environment with an ambient temperature between 0   to 55 degrees Celsius and can also be stored in an environment with a temperature of -40 to 70 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity rating ranges from 5% to 85%, noncondensing. With a Pollution degree level of 2, the 778572-31 is suitable for environments with low to moderate levels of contamination. This module is designed for indoor use only and can be mounted at height of 2000 meters.
