National Instruments PXIe-2540 PXI Matrix Switch Module

The PXIe‑2540 (Part Number: 780587-40) is a 350 MHz, 8 x 9, PXI RF Matrix Switch Module from National Instruments, with the capability to connect to any row or column within the switching matrix. This module maximizes the flexibility of test systems. The NI PXIe-2540 Matrix Switch Module has isolation relays, which disconnect unused parts of the switching matrix and help maintain RF performance and high isolation. The PXIe 2540 module is perfect for routing signals between digitizers and function generators, as well as routing signals between RF generators and analyzers.

The value for the contact resistance of the NI PXIe-2540 Matrix Switch Module remains low for the whole life cycle of the relay, with an approximate value less than 2.1 ohms. It can elevate rapidly to above 3.1 ohms at the end of the life cycle of the relay. The PXIe-2540 module has a switching power up to 10 Watts. It is controlled by the maximum switching current and the maximum voltage. The value for switching voltage is 60 VDC. The module can also carry maximum current of up to 0.5 amperes per channel. The maximum RF power of the NI PXIe-2540 decreases with an increase in frequency or with an increase in the simultaneous number of operational channels.

The PXIe-2540 Matrix Switch Module comes with structured reed relays, which can deliver up to 40 relay operations in 0.25 microseconds. There are also 17 MCX jack connectors on the front panel. The NI PXIe 2540 additionally has 7 built-in input trigger lines. They offer the pulse width of 150 nanoseconds. The instrument comes with an adjustable pulse width for output trigger lines, which ranges from 1 to 62 microseconds.
