National Instruments 778572-30 PXI Multiplexer Switch Module
The National Instruments 778572-30, often referred to as the PXI-2530B, is a high-density, multipurpose multiplexer switch module. Designed for intricate or high-channel-count systems, this module offers a variety of configuration options to accommodate a wide range of applications. It is a great option for complex switching requirements because of its reed-relay switch, which supports three matrix combinations and four multiplexer configurations.
In addition to multiple matrix configurations such as 4x32 (1-wire), 8x16 (1-wire), and 4x16 (2-wire), the 778572-30 offers multiple topologies, such as 128x1 (1-wire), 64x1 (2-wire), and 32x1 (4-wire). These configurations are flexible enough to accommodate many testing scenarios, as long as the right terminal block is chosen.
When used channel-to-channel or channel-to-ground, this module runs at a maximum switching voltage of 60 VDC or 30 VACrms, falling under CAT I. It is appropriate for a range of electrical applications since it can manage a maximum switching power of 10 W per channel and a maximum current of 0.4 A per terminal or internal path. With an end-of-life resistance of 3 Ω or greater, the first DC route resistance from channel to common is usually less than 2 Ω. In a 1-wire design, its thermal EMF is usually less than 50 µV.
In terms of design, the 778572-30 comprises a reed relay type, a 3U, single-slot PXI/cPCI module chassis, and an LFH matrix 50 front panel connection with 160 locations. It weighs 266 grams and has measurements of 21.6 x 2.0 x 13.0 cm. At 5 V, 4.2 W of electricity and 1.2 W at 3.3 V are needed. The module may be kept between -40 °C and 70 °C and operates between 0 °C and 55 °C in temperature. It is meant to be used indoors only and operates efficiently in a non-condensing range of relative humidity from 5% to 85%. Its maximum altitude is 2,000 meters.
