National Instruments PXI-2501 PXI Multiplexer Switch Module
The National Instruments PXI-2501(Part Number: 777696-01, 185101G-01L) is a 1-, 2-, or 4-Wire, 48-Channel, FET based PXI Multiplexer Switch Module. By using different terminal block accessories, the user can configure this Switch Module as a matrix switch or a multiplexer switch. This model is ideal for the fast inspecting of LV signals as it utilizes FET switches with brief settling times. For deterministic scanning, the PXI-2501 comes equipped with a scan list capable of 1,024s steps as well.
With this model, the user can achieve a maximum scan rate of 15,000 channels/s. For handling I/O connections, the PXI-2501 comes equipped with a 68-pin male SCSI connector. This Multiplexer Switch has dimensions of 21.6 cm × 2.0 cm × 13.0 cm and weighs around 6.1 oz. As far as its trigger characteristics are concerned, this switch can handle 70 ns PXI trigger lines and 500 ns front panel trigger lines. This model can generate output trigger through <0...7> PXI trigger lines and front panel at 1 μs pulse width.
This switch card is offered in two-wire configuration mode by default. In this mode, the CHx+ and COMx+, similar to the CHx– and COMx– channels, are switched together for the corresponding bank. However, the user can also have this module operated in one-wire, three-wire, and four-wire configurations. In typical conditions, the four-wire mode of the PXI-2501 is considered for resistance measurements. In addition to these modes, the National Instruments PXI-2501 can also be configured as a 2-wire, 6 by 4 crosspoint matrix. To have this module configured in matrix mode quickly, the TB-2606 terminal block is known to be a viable solution.
