National Instruments AL-3011 Resistor Emulation Board
The resistor emulation board AL-3011 (Part Number: 787890-01) was designed specifically for use with the National Instruments (NI) Switch Load Signal Conditioning (SLSC) system. This module is ideal for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators since it simulates resistive sensors with various functionality. There are numerous applications for its 16 channels, each of which supports a resistance range of 10 Ω to 8 MΩ.
By offering a short to either FI+ or FI-, the fault insertion (FIU) capabilities of each channel of the AL-3011 enable the simulation of faults. With the use of this capability, which simulates real-world situations like damaged wiring or broken sensors, electronic control unit (ECU) hardware and software can be validated and verified. Effective testing and development are made possible by the board's smooth integration into current systems, which is compatible with NI PXI and Compact-RIO instrumentation equipment.
Two common reference buses on the AL-3011 allow for flexible connection to various device under test (DUT) inputs. For fault insertion, the reference (REF) of each channel can either be connected to DUT_GND or disabled. To further increase the board's adaptability in a variety of testing scenarios, eight of the channels can be wired to DUT_PWR and the remaining eight channels can be linked to another DUT input.
For emulating sensors and actuators, such as temperature and pressure sensors, this resistor emulation board is quite helpful. It can support a wide range of simulation needs because to the incorporation of a large resistance range. Additionally, the AL-3011 has 16 separate, independent channels, which enable interference-free, exact and accurate emulation on all channels.
The AL-3011 is packaged with a LabVIEW driver and a Custom Device Driver for VeriStand for convenience of integration and use. This speeds up the setup procedure and guarantees compatibility with pre-existing NI software products. The board has sufficient capability for the majority of testing scenarios, with a maximum voltage of 60 V, a maximum current of 110 mA, and a power rating of 400 mW.
