The National Instruments 780109-01 is a high performance single channel arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) designed for complex signal generation. It is also known as the PXIe-5442. It features a 16 bit DAC with a maximum sample rate of 100 MS/s that provides precise signal creation for a wide range of applications. The module is equipped with a digital upconverter (DUC) which allows for direct generation of intermediate frequency (IF) signals simplifying the signal chain in communication systems.
This waveform generator supports two main output paths: the Direct path and the Main path both of which are software-selectable. The Direct path is optimized for IF applications that offer full scale voltages ranging from 0.707 Vpk-pk to 1.00 Vpk-pk into a 50 Ω load. The Main path supports a broader voltage range from as low as 5.64 mVpk-pk to 2.00 Vpk-pk. The module's output impedance is selectable between 50 Ω and 75 Ω that ensures compatibility with different load conditions.
