National Instruments PXIe-3610 Waveform Generator
The PXIe-3610 (Part number:140137A-01L) is a Waveform Generator from National Instruments. This baseband waveform generator has sample rates of 2.94912 GS/s and 3.072 GS/s, with a DC offset of ±40 mV. As a PXI waveform generator, the PXIe-3610 is able to generate accurate arbitrary waveforms by utilizing data from a host or peer-to-peer instrument inside the PXI system.
The PXIe-3610 utilizes two different types of connectors. For the I or Q channels use a differential 100Ω MMPX connector, while both the Ref In and Ref Out have a 50Ω MMPX connector. The Ref In power of the PXIe-3610 is 0 to +13 dBm, and the Ref Out power is +10 dBm. The frequency of both the Ref In and Ref Out is 10 MHz. Additionally, the PXIe-3610 is equipped with two LED indicators that show the status of the digital-to-analog (DAC) converter that is located within the module.
The PXIe-3610 is one of the many modules that make up the mmWave transceiver system (MTS). The MTS is a modular collection of gear that may be utilized for a wide range of tasks- including channel sounding and the development of real-time two-way communication systems. The radio heads of the mmWave transceiver system are modular, and they may be exchanged for alternative front ends to study a variety of frequencies using the same baseband hardware and software.
The PXIe-3610 has differential I and Q outputs, and can be used in conjunction with the upconverter / downconverter module PXIe-3620 by connecting to its differential I and Q connectors. The front panel of the PXIe-3610 includes 4 digital connectors for the I/Q data. These connectors must be connected to the PXIe-7902, which is a 24 channel high speed serial instrument.
