The PXIe-5450 (Part Numbers: 780419-01 and 780419-02) is a 2 output channel PXI Waveform Generator with a resolution bandwidth up to 145 MHz. The NI PXIe-5450 is designed to test devices with I/Q inputs or as the baseband component of an RF Vector Signal Generator. This Arbitrary Waveform Generator also features pulse shaping and interpolation filters, gain and offset control, and a numerically controlled oscillator (NCO) for frequency shifting, which are features of onboard signal processing (OSP). The PXIe-5450 additionally has advanced synchronization and data streaming capabilities.
The NI PXIe-5450 is a 16-bit differential I/Q generator with 120 MHz of baseband I/Q bandwidth, flatness correction, and interpolation. It has 50 Ω output impedance (100 Ω differential output impedance) and output attenuation levels from 0 to 3 dB. This model also features High Resolution internal clocking, external clocking options, 2 bidirectional PFI lines for importing triggers and exporting events, PXI trigger lines, TClk synchronization, digital gain, a sample rate up to 400 MS per second, up to 2 GB of onboard waveform memory, and differential output amplitude with a maximum of 1.0 Vpk-pk into a 100 Ω differential load. It is equipped with 2 SMB and 6 SMA front panel connectors.
The PXIe-5450 operates using the NI-FGEN driver which is compatible with application development environments like LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time, LabWindows/CVI, Microsoft Visual C/C++, and Microsoft Visual Basic.
The minimum standard memory size for the PXIe-5450 is 128 MB. With the minimum standard memory size, extraordinarily long waveforms can be stored on the device. The NI PXIe-5450 PXI Waveform Generator also comes with higher memory options of 512 MB or 2 GB. The Onboard Memory of the PXIe-5450 stores the waveform data and generation instructions loaded into the device, while clocking allows the user to create their Sample clock and Reference clock. The Waveform Generation Engine retrieves the waveform data and instructions from the Onboard Memory using the Sample clock.
