National Instruments 782915-01 Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device
The National Instruments 782915-01 (USB-7855R) is a multifunction reconfigurable I/O device designed to provide highly flexible data acquisition and control capabilities. It features an onboard Kintex-7 70T FPGA that allows users to perform high-performance signal processing directly on the device. This programmable FPGA gives complete control over system timing and synchronization. This makes it ideal for complex real time data acquisition and embedded control systems. The digital I/O on this multifunction reconfigurable I/O device is extensive with 48 reconfigurable lines spread across two connectors. These lines support LVTTL and LVCMOS logic families with configurable voltage levels from 1.2 V to 3.3 V. With a maximum frequency of 80 MHz for the primary connector, this high speed digital I/O is ideal for applications requiring fast signal switching and high frequency digital communications.
The 782915-01 device includes eight analog input channels utilizing a successive approximation register (SAR) ADC with 16-bit resolution and offers a maximum sampling rate of 1 MS/s per channel. Each input channel is software-configurable for differential non-referenced single-ended (NRSE) or referenced single-ended (RSE) modes. This allows flexibility in signal acquisition based on application requirements. Input signal ranges are selectable from ± 1 V to ± 10 V with a high input impedance of 1.25 GΩ when powered on. The NI 782915-01 device provides eight analog output channels each with 16-bit resolution and capable of updating at 1 MS/s. The enhanced R-2R DAC architecture supports a ± 10 V output range.
This makes it suitable for precise control and signal generation. The device includes protection features such as short-circuit protection to the ground and overvoltage protection up to ± 15 V when powered on. It also offers a user-configurable power-on state. It provides flexibility in system initialization. Power requirements for the device range from 9 V to 30 V with a maximum power consumption of 20 W. This ensures efficient operation in a wide range of environments. The rugged design supports an operating temperature range of - 40 °C to 70 °C that makes it suitable for industrial and harsh environmental conditions.
