National Instruments PXIe-7961R PXI FPGA Module for FlexRIO

The PXIe-7961R (Part Number: 781205-01) is a reconfigurable FPGA module designed for use with National Instruments FlexRIO systems. This versatile module features an integrated Virtex-5 SX50T FPGA that is equipped with 4752 kilobits of RAM. The 132 general purpose channels of the module can utilized as single-ended, as 66 differential pairs, or as a combination of both. The maximum power requirement for the +3.3 VDC is 3 A, while the power for +12 V is 2 A. .The I/O connector of the device is a high-density card edge.

This module also supports P2P or peer-to-peer streaming, which is state-of-the-art technology for data sharing between many FPGA or PXIe modules directly, without overloading the host processor. P2P streaming enables you to design and operate a system for computationally extensive FPGA algorithms. The NI PXIe-7961R comes equipped with 16 DMA (direct memory access) channels. The connection resource for this FPGA module includes PXIe_Sync100, PXIe_DStarC, PXIe_DStarA, etc. This module comes with an internal timebase. However, you can also configure it to operate with an external timebase reference such as PXIe_CLK100.

Without the connectors, this FPGA Module measures 6.3 in. × 4.3 in. (16.1 cm × 10.8 cm) in dimensions and weighs 7.5 oz (213 g). The environmental specifications of the device include an operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C with a noncondensing relative humidity range of 10% to 90%. When not being operated, the storage temperature range spans from –20 °C to 70 °C and has a noncondensing relative humidity range of 5% to 95%. These temperature and humidity ranges were tested in accordance with IEC-60068-2-1, IEC-60068-2-2, and IEC-60068-2-56.

The PXIe-7961R is no longer available from National Instruments, but this FPGA module will remain available for both purchase and repairs with Apex Waves.
