National Instruments PCI-7030/6040E DAQ Device
Featured with a 1 kHz single PID loop rate and a dedicated onboard processor, the National Instruments PCI-7030/6040E (Part Number: 777835-01) is a 12-Bit DAQ Device. This model comes with a dedicated CPU. The NI PCI-7030/6040E offers real-time, reliable, and deterministic I/O for measurement and control applications. With this module, the user can benefit from the real-time advantage of having single or multiple LabVIEW based applications downloaded directly. This model features a 12-bit, successive approximation type of ADC that supports DC coupling. The default overvoltage protection setting for the 6040E daughter board is at 25V.
This DAQ Device comes with a unique infrastructure; it allows the user the integration of real-time control tasks with a broad range of measurement devices on the same host machine. In case of software failure, the RT system incorporated in this device stays live and ensures an automatic reconnection as early as the host machine becomes available again. The National Instruments PCI-7030/6040E comes with 8 dual-ended or 16 single-ended inputs, with an update range of up to 500 kS/s, and a 12-bit resolution. With this model, the user will achieve a voltage input range of ±0.1 to ±10. The two analog outputs offered on this module can operate over an output range of ±10 V, have a 12-bit resolution, and a sampling rate of 1 MS/s. Besides this, for time-related applications, the PCI-7030-6040E comes equipped with two 24-bit counter/timers, has an AMD 486 DX5 32-Bit Architecture processor with a clock speed of 133 MHz.
The National Instruments PCI-7030/6040E DAQ Device comes with PCI connectivity. However, a similar board with PXI connectivity (Part Number: 777837-01) is also available on the market. The PCI-7030/6040E is run using the NIDAQmx driver software which is compatible with software packages/application development environments (ADEs) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, or Measurement Studio. The device can be verified using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool. The NI device measures 12.3 x 4.2 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 55 °C.
PCI-7030/6040E Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.

National Instruments PCI-7030/6040E Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Can I generate a 10,000 Hz Sine wave using PCI-7030/6040E DAQ board?
Answer: In order to generate a 10,000 Hz Sine wave for the PCI-7030/6040E, you should try a sample rate of 10x, which is 100Ks/s. This is 1/10 of the minimum that the board allows.
Question: How can I test the NI PCI-7030/6040E with the test panel in MAX?
Answer: The NI PCI-7030/6040E cannot access the test panel in MAX. Only LabVIEW Real-Time applications targeted to the 7030 series can access the DAQ board.
Question: How can I have the output data update on the same speed as the buffer on the PCI-7030/6040E?
Answer: In order to have the output data update on the same speed as the buffer on the PCI-7030/6040E, you will need to wire the iteration counter into the iteration input of the C-Gen.
Why Buy From Apex Waves:
"Hand carrying parts to fedex directly to make sure I get them overnight. Great service"
"They were very helpful to get me the test equipment that I need."
