National Instruments 778397-01 Multifunction DAQ

Part Number 778397-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments PCI-6120 Multifunction DAQ. The 778397-01 features 4 pseudodifferential analog input channels connected to an ADC with a resolution of 16 bits. Likewise, the module has a maximum sampling rate of 800 kS/s. Similarly, it has both DC/AC coupling, which means that it is useful for dealing with mixed signals, having both AC and DC components and signals without DC components. The input FIFO buffer size is 32 MS. Furthermore, data transfers can occur through interrupts, programmed I/O, 
or DMA, which operates in the scatter-gather mode.

The 778397-01 also features a 5-pole Bessel analog filter with a cutoff frequency of 100 kHz. Likewise, it features 2 analog output channels with a resolution of 16 bits. The maximum update rate is 4 MS/s when a single channel is used and 2.5 MS/s when both channels are used. Note that this characteristic is system-dependent.  On the other hand, the module can generate output voltages in the range of ±10 V and offers only DC coupling. 

As for digital I/O, the 778397-01 offers 8 channels that are TTL/CMOS-compatible. These lines stay in a high-impedance state during power-on and have a transfer rate of 10 Mwords/s (1 word = 8 bits). The sizes of both the input and the output buffer are 2048 bytes. The 778397-01 draws 3.0 A at +5 VDC (±5%) and 0.8 A at +3.3 V. The power available at the I/O connector is +4.65 VDC to +5.25 VDC at 1 A. The device measures 12.3 in.  4.2 in. in physical dimensions and features a 68-pin male SCSI-II connector for I/O purposes.

The 778397-01 is recommended for operation between temperatures of 0 °C to 50 °C with a relative humidity of 10% to 90%. On the other hand, it can be stored between a wider temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C. The device is intended for indoor use only and within a maximum altitude of 2000 m.
