National Instruments SCC-AI06 Isolated Analog Input Module
The National Instruments SCC-AI06 (Part Number: 777459-25) is an Isolated Analog Input Module that can extract a generally low-amplitude input signal from a high-common-mode voltage, so the E/M Series DAQ device can quantify the input signal. They additionally amplify and filter the input signal, resulting in higher estimation resolution and precision. This model has a gain of 100, a bandwidth of 10 kHz, an input range of ±100 mV, and an output range of ±10 V.
Each screw terminal on the NI SCC-AI06 is marked by a pin number. Pins 1 and 2 frame a channel directed to the E/M Series DAQ channel X+8. Pins 3 and 4 form a channel directed to the E/M Series DAQ channel X, where X is 0 to 7 depending on the socket where you connect the module. The SCC-AI06 gives channel-to-ground and module-to-module isolation only. It does not offer isolation between the two channels of the NI SCC-AI06. Since the two channels must have a similar reference voltage, pins 1 and 3 are associated together inside. The NI device is equipped with one 20-pin right-angle male connector and one removable 4-pin screw terminal.
If the user arranged the National Instruments SCC-AI06 by utilizing Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and is utilizing NI-DAQmx, the voltage reading received from the E/M Series DAQ device represents the voltage scaling impact of the SCC-AI06. Otherwise, since the voltage estimation from the E/M Series DAQ device is scaled by the increase, the user should divide the voltage reading returned by the E/M Series DAQ device by this gain to find the correct input voltage. The module has an analog power requirement of up to 410 mW, and a digital power requirement of 650 mW maximum.
The SCC-AI06 weighs 1.0 oz, and has a screw terminal wire gauge measuring 24 to 12 AWG. The device has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%. The DAQ device is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CSA 61010-1.
