The National Instruments 776571-01, often referred to as the SCXI-1001, is a 12-slot AC chassis designed for SCXI modules. It delivers complete power and control circuits for all installed modules as well as the low-noise environment necessary for high-precision signal conditioning. This chassis is appropriate for intricate, high-channel-count systems because it can control timing, trigger, and signal routing between SCXI modules and other networked devices. Significant system scalability for upcoming expansions is made possible by its capability for daisy-chaining up to eight 776571-01 chassis, which enables the control of up to 3,072 channels with a single data acquisition (DAQ) device.
Built to be versatile, the 776571-01 chassis is compatible with off-the-shelf pure sine wave DC-to-AC power inverters and provides several conventional AC power sources. Through the use of a DC power source, this feature makes the chassis more versatile in a range of industrial environments. An efficient technique to route analog and digital signals and act as the main communication channel between modules is the SCXIbus, which is incorporated into the architecture of the chassis. Up to 333 kS/s of input channel scanning over multiple modules in different chassis is made possible by the control circuitry within the chassis, which synchronizes the time between each module and the DAQ device.
The 776571-01 chassis is suitable for high-channel-count applications since it can be operated with E Series or Basic multifunction DAQ devices and supports a variety of current SCXI modules. The programming interface is always the same, using the same function calls as when using a standalone DAQ device, regardless of the setup of the system. System setup and operation are made simpler by the driver software for NI-DAQ or NI-SWITCH, which handles all low-level programming duties.
The chassis can run at a maximum current of 1.75 A at 100 VAC, 1.5 A at 120 VAC, 0.80 A at 220 VAC, and 0.75 A at 240 VAC. It can accept a range of input voltages, including 100, 120, 220, or 240 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz. It provides the modules with power requirements of +5 VDC at 50 mA per slot, +18.5 to +25.0 VDC at 170 mA per slot, and -18.5 to -25.0 VDC at 170 mA per slot.
