National Instruments 776572-20 Voltage Input Module
The National Instruments 776572-20, often known as the SCXI-1120, is an advanced 8-channel isolated voltage input module. With a ±5 VDC input range and a lowpass filter that can be adjusted between 4 Hz and 10 kHz, it performs exceptionally well in signal conditioning and isolation for thermocouple, millivolt, volt, and current signals. Its eight input channels, with a working isolation of 250 Vrms apiece, ensure excellent safety and dependability in a range of applications.
With support for thermocouples, volt sources, millivolt sources, and current sources ranging from 0 to 20 mA to 4 to 20 mA, this module is incredibly versatile. Inputs from strain gauges, RTDs, and thermistors can also be measured with external excitation. Aside from its ability to interact with vibration sensors when external stimulation is supplied, the 776572-20 is perfect for a variety of industrial and laboratory situations.
The 776572-20 has two output modes for operation. All eight input channels are linked in parallel to eight DAQ device channels when using the parallel-output mode. The DAQ system's channel count is greatly increased when all eight channels are multiplexed into a single DAQ device channel in the multiplexed-output mode. The module works flawlessly with Lab PC+, 1200 Series, and MIO instruments from National Instruments. Additionally, Lab-NB, Lab-PC, Lab-LC, and PC-LPM-16/PnP devices can be utilized with it; however, these devices are limited to single-channel reads when the module is in multiplexed-output mode.
For enhanced usability, the 776572-20 supports the multiplexing of several modules into a single channel, thus expanding the number of analog input signals that can be digitized. Screw terminals for simple signal connection are provided by a shielded terminal block, which also has a temperature sensor for thermocouple cold-junction compensation (CJC). The eight channels can be multiplexed with this cold-junction reference (CJR), or it can be connected via jumpers to a separate DAQ device channel.
