National Instruments 776572-81 Breadboard module

Part Number 776572-81 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments SCXI-1181 Breadboard Module. The breadboard module can be used with the NI SCXI product line to create a custom signal conditioning circuitry for analog I/O, digital I/O, timing, and control applications. The 776572-81 has a breadboarding area consisting of a perforated board space to create custom circuits. Likewise, the module has three connectors: a 96-pin DIN C-type connector as the front connector, a 50-in right-angle male ribbon-cable connector as the rear signal connector, and a SCXIbus connector. There are numbered pads on the breadboard for all three connectors which allows easy signal connection.

The 776572-81 also features a circuit layout for easy installation of positive and negative adjustable voltage regulators. The regulated output voltage at V+ ranges from a minimum of +1.25 V to a maximum of +15 V. Similarly, it ranges from -1.25 V to -15 V on the V- terminal. The line regulation is typically 0.02%/V while the load regulation is 0.3% typical. The maximum current output on both the I+ and the I- terminal should be 170 mA. One of the important considerations when using the 776572-81 is when you connect unregulated supplies to the V+ and V-, it is recommended to fuse with 250 mA fast-acting fuses. This is because it will protect your module better than the high-value fuses in the SCXI chassis and it can be more easily accessed and replaced. Furthermore, when soldering and desoldering on the module, it is recommended to use a low-wattage soldering rod. Moreover,

The 776572-81 can be installed onto a SCXI backplane with a series of steps. First, the computer that contains the data acquisition plug-in board must be disconnected from the SCXI chassis. Then, the SCXI chassis is turned off and the breadboard module is inserted into the guard rails of an empty slot. This is followed by screwing the front panel of the breadboard module to the top and bottom threaded strips of the SCXI chassis. Finally, check the installation and then turn on the SCXI chassis and then the computer.
