National Instruments 776572-92 Relay Module

The National Instruments 776572-92, or SCXI-1192, is an 18 GHz general purpose relay module specifically designed for managing RF signals. It features eight single pole double-throw (SPDT) relays each providing two channels. These relays enable flexible signal routing in RF testing and switching applications. The module operates up to a maximum frequency of 18 GHz. The 776572-92 module is capable of switching a maximum voltage of 30 V and a current of 2 A. However, it is important to note that this module does not support routing signals to the high-voltage analog bus. This limits its use to certain RF signal applications. Each channel is designed to provide low insertion loss maintaining signal integrity across a wide frequency range. The insertion loss remains under 0.5 dB even at the maximum frequency of 18 GHz.

The 776572-92 module includes a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of less than 1.50 at 18 GHz which ensures minimal signal reflection and maximum power transfer. The open channel isolation ranges from over 85 dB at 1 GHz to over 60 dB at 18 GHz. This ensures that signals in adjacent channels do not interfere with one another.
This relay module supports DC, AC_rms or a combination of input signals. The maximum switching voltage is rated at 30 V for both channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground scenarios. The 776572-92 module is designed to carry an RF power of up to 120 W for frequencies up to 3 GHz. This RF power handling capability makes the model suitable for applications requiring high power at lower frequencies.

The module also features a maximum cycle speed of 2 cycles per second and a relay operate time of 15 ms. Its expected relay life is robust offering up to 5 million mechanical and electrical cycles. These attributes contribute to the long term reliability and durability of the module in demanding RF environments. The NI 776572-92 relay module is housed in a compact form factor with dimensions of 3.0 cm x 17.3 cm x 19.6 cm and weighs approximately 1090 grams. The module's physical design includes 24 SMA connectors and gold plated contacts.
