National Instruments 777687-24 High-Voltage Screw Terminal Block

Part Number 777687-24 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments SCXI-1324 High-Voltage Screw Terminal Block. This terminal block has 48 screw terminals which enable signal connections to the 16 relays inside the SCXI-1160 relay module. To use the 777687-24 terminal block with a SCXI-1160 module, the user needs a Number 1 and 2 Phillips-head screwdrivers, a 1/8 in. flathead screwdriver, long-nose pliers, a wire cutter, and a wire insulation stripper. The module supports a maximum of 2A of load or signal current per channel. Likewise, the common mode isolation for both channel-to-channel and channel-to-ground is 250 Vrms.

The 777687-24 is recommended for operation in the temperature range of 0 to 50 °C and relative humidity of 5 to 90%. Likewise, the maximum altitude where the module can be used safely is 2000m. Lastly, the module should be dry and free of contaminants before it is put into use. 

The device conforms to electrical measuring and test equipment safety standards IEC 61010-1, UL 3111-1, and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1. For safe operation, the 777687-24 should not be used in an explosive atmosphere or in an environment where flammable gases or fumes may be present. Likewise, it should be kept away from live circuits and operated in an Installation Category II environment, as per IEC 60664. Similarly, the user must be careful not to substitute parts modify the equipment, or use a damaged one. In addition, to avoid damages or injuries resulting from insufficient signal wire insulation, only 26-14 AWG wire with a rating of 300V and 60°C must be used for signals that may come in contact with 250 V. Furthermore, the user must make sure that the lines are powered off before connecting or disconnecting signal lines to or from the terminal block. Lastly, for high voltages ( (≥30 Vrms and 42.4 Vpeak or ±60 VDC), you must connect a safety ground earth wire to the terminal block safety ground solder lug as it protects against electric shock when the terminal block is not connected.
