National Instruments SCXI-1192 Relay Module

The SCXI-1192 general-purpose 18 GHz module can handle RF signals to a maximum of 18 GHz. This module has 8 SPDT relays with 2 channels per relay and is not supportive of routing signals to the high-voltage analog bus. The maximum rated voltage of the module is 30 V, whereas the maximum rated current is 2 A at 30 V. For the NI SCXI-1192 and other SCXI modules, the user has the option to auto-detect the modules or manually add them. The choice is based on the user’s application. When the user chooses auto-detect and the chassis is not an SCXI-2000 remote chassis, then the user must ensure the chassis has been connected to an NI instrument. It is imperative to remember to not take the SCXI 1192 Relay Module out of a chassis that is powered on. Doing so may result in harm to the module.    

The NI SCXI-1192 has 24 screw-on SMA jacks for the I/O connectors. The relays on this module are latching electromechanical relays with a gold plate contact material. Since this Relay Module has latching relays, there is not a defined power-up state. Instead, the relays will maintain their state in case of power loss. The rest mode of the SCXI-1192 joins NC to COM for every relay. In addition, the NI SCXI-1192 can be utilized to route signals from two RF sources to a single RF measurement instrument. These measurement instruments include a Scope, a Spectrum Analyzer, or a Power Meter.

SCXI-1192 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
