National Instruments SCXI-1305 AC/DC Coupling BNC Terminal Block

The SCXI 1305 (Part Number: 777687-05) Shielded Terminal Block can be utilized to connect to the following module’s input connectors: the SCXI-1120/D, SCXI-1121, SCXI-1125, SCXI-1126, SCXI-1140, or SCXI-1141/1142/1143. This BNC Terminal Block has eight BNC connectors and one SMB connector to make signal connections as simple as possible. The BNC connectors are used for signal connections to the eight module inputs. The SMB connector gives access to the module’s digital signals. The SMB connector also gives access to the HOLDTRIG for the SCXI-1140 module, as well as OUTCLK and EXTCLK for the SCXI-1141/1142/1143 modules. However, these signals are not active on the SCXI-1120/D, SCXI-1121, SCXI-1125, and SCXI-1126.

The user must determine which kind of signal sources are present in the SCXI system prior to utilizing the National Instruments SCXI-1305 Terminal Block. The signal sources can be floating or ground-referenced. Floating sources are not linked to the building ground system and have an isolated ground-reference point that the user cannot guarantee is at equivalent potential as another ground. A ground-referenced source, however, is linked to the building ground and has the same ground as the DAQ device, if the computer is linked to the building power supply. In addition, the user should remember to reference an input signal to ground at just a single point, but only if the source is floating. Ground-referenced sources do not need to be referenced since they are already linked to the building ground.

Every channel on the NI SCXI-1305 can be configured for AC or DC coupling by utilizing the switch settings. To set up the Terminal Block for AC coupling, both switches should be set to the AC position. For DC coupling on the SCXI-1305, both switches need to be set to the DC position. The NI device weighs 14.5 oz, and measures 6.83 x 1.19 x 3.91 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating and storage temperature ranges of 0 to 50 °C and –20 to 70 °C respectively.

SCXI-1305 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Terminal Block will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
