The SCXI-1349 Shielded Cable Adapter from National Instruments has been designed to provide dependable and secure connections for a range of applications for connecting SCXI systems to data acquisition (DAQ) equipment. With the exception of 61XXE devices, the SCXI-1349 adapter enables the connecting of any 68-pin E Series DAQ device to any SCXI module—SCXI switch modules excluded. Combining a 50-pin male breakout connector on the printed circuit board, a 68-pin male connector on the front panel, and a 50-pin female connector located in a bracket on the back allows for a variety of connecting choices with this adapter.
Because it covers the rear connectors of two modules, the SCXI-1349 adapter is essential to the smooth operation of SCXI systems. But the module just to the right of the SCXI-1349 module cannot have an external cable inserted into its back 50-pin connector. In order to keep connected modules operating at their best and avoid interference, this setting is necessary. The SCXI-1349 adaptor supports maximum working voltages of 30 Vrms, 42 Vpk, and 60 VDC (signal + common-mode) for analog input. The operating and storage temperatures for the adapter are 0 to 50 °C and -20 to 70 °C, respectively. Furthermore, it is resistant to non-condensing relative humidity ranges of 10% to 90%.
The SCXI-1349 adapter prioritizes safety and is designed in compliance with UL 3111-1, CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1, and IEC 61010-1 requirements for electrical measuring and test equipment. The adapter is categorized as Installation Category I, rated for usage at elevations up to 2000 meters, and compliant with a pollution degree of 2. It also complies with FCC Part 15 (Class A) and CE, C-Tick, and other strict electromagnetic compatibility standards. Electrical emissions are examined in accordance with EN 55011 Class A, and electrical immunity is evaluated in accordance with EN 61326-1:1997 A1:1998 standards.
