National Instruments PCI-6810 Serial Data Analyzer
The National Instruments PCI-6810 is a Serial Data Analyzer (SDA) designed for generation and acquiring streams up to 10 Mb/s. This model comes with 2 (configurable) channels to send or receive serial data. Combining these channels is possible for applications where a single transceiver channel is required. The NI PCI-6810 is designed to address the needs of device testing in manufacturing, laboratory, or workshop environments, such as wireless base stations, cellular phones, CD-ROM drives, and any other application where arbitrary serial patterns are involved.
Each serial channel comes with state-of-the-art logic that generates triggers against events. These triggers are used to direct the channel to initiate operations like transferring data from or to the computer`s memory, triggering any standalone instrument like a spectrum analyzer or oscilloscope, or routing to the RTSI (Real-Time System Integration) bus. The clock circuitry incorporated in this device can operate within the frequency range of 10 Hz to 10 MHz at 1-bit resolution. This circuitry utilizes a numerically controlled type oscillator with onboard phase control to ensure accuracy and stability.
For serial transmissions, the programmable clock featured in the PCI-6810 can also produce a baud rate clock. Moreover, for synchronous serial communications, this Serial Data Analyzer can be coupled with up to 10 MHz external clock source. The National Instruments PCI-6810 also has 8 digital I/O signals that can be used for general-purpose input and output applications. Users can also utilize the digital I/O for controlling any device`s test signals.
PCI-6810 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
