National Instruments PXI-8210 Ethernet/Ultra Wide SCSI Interface
Feature with both Ultra-Wide SCSI and Fast Ethernet interfaces, the National Instruments PXI-8210 (Part Number: 777569-01) is a single add-in card. This interface supports 100Base-TX and Ethernet 10Base-T transfer protocols with an auto-negotiation capability, enabling the user to connect to their network at the maximum rate. In addition, the NI PXI-8210 has Ultra-Wide SCSI and SCSI-2 interfaces.
While operating in Ultra-Wide SCSI mode, this card offers up to 40 Mbytes/s transfer rates. The bus mastering capability can make it operate with transfer rates of up to 133 Mbytes/s across the CompactPCI local bus or PXI. With this device, the user will be able to utilize a 6 m (19.7 ft) cable. The National Instruments PXI-8210 allows operation of up to 15 different and separate SCSI devices. This model is compatible with both 8 and 16-bit SCSI devices. For 8-bit SCSI devices, this model comes equipped with an internal 50-contact low-density connector, while an External 68-contact high-density connector is provided to be used for 16/8-bit Ultra-Wide SCSI or SCSI-2.
This interface connects to as many as seven 8-bit, single-ended intelligent SCSI, SCSI-2, or SCSI-3 devices or up to 15, 16-bit single-ended devices including hard disks, scanners, printers, and CD-ROM drives. With a BIOS extension installed in the ROM socket, the NI PXI-8210 can boot from the Ethernet or SCSI device as well. For improved noise immunity, this model features active terminators on the SCSI bus. This model has a standard RJ-45 Ethernet connector for communications over Fast Ethernet.
PXI-8210 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the interface will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
