Smart E Tech SET-1250 Current Sink Card
The Smart E Tech SET-1250 is a versatile Current Sink Card with 32 isolated channels. This signal conditioning card is designed for both testing and simulating equipment that adheres to the 4-20mA current loop standard. The SET-1250 boasts an increased range spanning from 0 - 24.6 mA- making it an excellent choice for automotive, HIL test systems, and aerospace applications of all sizes.
Each of the 32 channels of the SET-1250 is equipped with a short circuit MOSFET and a disconnection relay, offering current sink simulation and the ability to mimic both open and short circuit failures. Additionally, each channel features it’s own independent settings that allow the user to configure their desired parameters for fault insertion and simulation value. The outputs may be configured using the SET-1250's RTI and SLSC APIs. For additional safeguarding, the current sink card incorporates a current limiter for overcurrent protection.
The front panel of the SET-1250 features pinouts for J1 and J2 connectors, while the rear pinout has an XJ2 connector type. Two LEDs on the module provide instant visual confirmation about the device's power (PWR) and ready (RDY) statuses. A good power status is indicated when the Power LED is solid green in color. In the event that the LED is off, there is no power and the power supply has to be checked. A problem with the board's fuse or plugin module is indicated if the Power LED is flickering red. When the card is in communication with the chassis, the Ready LED has an amber hue; after the module has been acknowledged by the chassis, the LED turns solid green.
Capable of operation in altitudes of up to 2,000 meters, the SET-1250 is built to endure a broad variety of environmental conditions. By utilizing forced-air cooling from the chassis, the simulation module may operate at temperatures between 0 and 40 °C. The SET-1250 operates with a relative noncondensing humidity that varies between 10% and 90%. The card has an even larger storage temperature range, ranging from -40 to 85 °C, when it is not in use. Additionally noncondensing, the relative storage humidity has a range of 5% to 95%.
