National Instruments SET-2010 Routing Card

The SET-2010 Routing Card is an advanced, high-density switching matrix designed to meet the rigorous demands of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation systems. This card facilitates exceptional signal routing capabilities, managing 64 single-ended channels or 32 differential channels, which makes it a versatile tool in various industrial applications.

Measuring 144.32mm x 30.48mm x 302mm, the SET-2010 is compact yet powerful, conforming to the Standard SLSC card size. It includes two female DB-44 high-density D-Sub connectors with 4-40 UNC screw lock and a robust 2mm hard metric RTI connector compliant with IEC 61076-101 standards, ensuring reliable connections and enhanced performance consistency.

This routing card is engineered to support a maximum input voltage range from -60Vdc to 60Vdc, with a maximum switching power of 60W for DC resistive loads. It can handle a maximum current rating of 1.5A. The device carries an impressive electrical lifetime, capable of 100,000 operations at 1A, 30Vdc resistive load, and 10,000 operations at 1.5A, 30Vdc resistive load. Its bandwidth is rated at ≤20 MHz with a -3dB, 50 Ohm termination, suitable for a variety of industrial applications.

The SET-2010 features two plug-in module slots which enhance its functionality by allowing for line fault insertion and instrument connection, thus broadening its application scope. The base card itself offers multiplexer functions for both front-panel and rear connectivity, including a high-current fault injection bus, which is critical for testing and simulation scenarios.

The SET-2010 operates optimally within a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C, supported by forced-air cooling from the chassis. It can function in relative humidity ranging from 10% to 90%, non-condensing, during operation, and 5% to 95%, non-condensing, in storage. Its storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, with a maximum altitude limit of 2000 meters for operation, ensuring its durability and reliability under varied environmental conditions.

NI designed the SET-2010 with safety and EMC compliance, which adheres to stringent electromagnetic compatibility guidelines. It provides protection against harmful interference when operated in its intended industrial environment. To maintain specified EMC performance, the use of shielded cables and accessories is recommended, with a maximum cable length of 3 meters for connectors J1 and J2.
