The SET-2110 (Part Number: 787760-01) Fault Insertion Card from National Instruments is a high-density, large-scale switching matrix made especially for routing signals in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) technology. It provides sixteen differential or thirty-two single-ended channels, enabling flexible, individual connections of each line to a high-current fault injection bus. Dynamically choosing one of the fault bus signal pairings for each channel adds even more flexibility to this. To simulate fault circumstances in testing environments, the SET-2110 also has the capacity to create short circuits between the positive and negative signals on a channel.
As compared to conventional routing matrix cards, the SET-2110 is designed to meet the particular requirements of HIL systems and provides two plug-in module slots for increased customization. The card's capability can be expanded to fulfill testing requirements by adding features like instrument connections, which can be accommodated in these slots. The gadget has LED indicators for transparent status communication and strong error handling. For example, the PWR LED shows the power status; solid green indicates satisfactory power state, while off indicates no power. The red, green, and amber lights on the RDY LED indicate the status of the module: solid green indicates the card is detected by the chassis and is ready for communication; off indicates the module is unpowered or reset; and amber indicates active communication.
Under resistive load conditions, the maximum switching power that the SET-2110 can handle is 60 W. For every pin, it can accept a maximum input voltage of 60 V DC. A maximum current rating of 1.5 A is available, and the SLSC Commit CMD length update time is 10 ms. The card's electrical lifetime is estimated to be 10^5 operations at 1 A and 10^4 operations at 1.5 A at a resistive load of 30 VDC, based on its rating.
The module measures 144.32 x 30.48 x 302 mm (H x W x D) without the ejector. It features two 4-40 UNC screw locks on female DB-44 high-density D-Sub connectors. The hard metric for the RTI connector is 2 mm, in accordance with IEC 61076-101. With forced-air cooling from the chassis, the SET-2110card operates in the 0°C to 40°C temperature range. It can be stored in the range of -40°C to 85°C. It can operate in relative, non-condensing humidity levels of 10% to 90% and sustain a maximum altitude of 2000 m. Its storage humidity ranges from 5% to 95%.
