SSR Series
The Solid State Relay (SSR) Series of Modules and Backplanes from National Instruments can be utilized with PC and NI DAQ devices to control or sense voltages. The NI SSR Modules plug into the SSR Backplanes. This series is compatible with the SC-205X devices. By using optical isolation, these high-performance modules connect the PC to field equipment. SSRs operate similarly to mechanical relays, but they do not have a moving contact- instead using semiconductor switching components such as transistors, diodes, triacs, and thyristors. The SSR Modules in this series are available as either input (SSR-IAC5, SSR-IAC5A, SSR-IDC5), or output (SSR-OAC5, SSR-OAC5A, SSR-ODC5) functionalities.
