Featured with an integrated GPS receiver and rubidium oscillators, the Astronics PXIe-3352 (Part Number: 785034-01) is a PXI Synchronization Module. This module is capable of generating high-stability and an extremely precise clock signal for third-party instrumentation or PXI. This module offers a high-accuracy square wave, sine-wave, or 1 pps output. The built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver in the PXIe-3352 provides disciplining for the rubidium oscillator.
This PXI Synchronization Module comes with a dedicated DC power input to keep the rubidium energized even when the host PXI chassis is powered off. This alternate DC power supply helps in keeping the oscillator stable and prevents it from being affected by the negative impacts of retracing. The Astronics PXIe-3352 can initiate operations quickly, since the GPS receiver retains the location information even in the offline state.
The Astronics PXIe-3352 PXI Synchronization Module is designed for use in PXI Express and PXI Hybrid slots in a PXI chassis or mainframe. In free-run mode, the Astronics PXIe-3352 offers a basic accuracy of 5e-11. This module is a viable solution in a wide range of applications where a high-accurate oscillator source is required. This PXI Synchronization Module consists of a GPS timing module and a rubidium-based oscillator.
The GPS block incorporated in the PXIe-3352 is a high-performance; self-contained GPS receiver that can acquire on 66 channels simultaneously and track on as many as 22 channels. The Astronics PXIe-3352 has built-in serial, PXIe, and digital interfaces. The serial interface enables this module to communicate with various external devices.
