Featured with an Intel i7 processor, the NI USRP-2974 (Part Number: 785606-01) is a standalone Software Defined Radio Device. This device comes with an integrated FPGA that can be configured through Linux Fedore, NI Linux RT, and other operating systems. The USRP-2974 is considered an ideal tool for prototyping various complicated research applications, such as 802.11 devices or LTE device emulation, MAC algorithm development, MIMO systems, spectrum sensing, etc. This device can operate over a range of 10 MHz to 6 GHz. There is an x86 processor in this device.
The NI USRP-2974 comes equipped with a Kintex-7 XC7K410T FPGA, which has 1 GB of DRAM. The RF transmitter of this Software Defined Radio Device comes with 2 channels. Each channel can be configured in a frequency step of < 1 kHz. The 2 receiver channels on the USRP-2974 can operate with up to 160 MHz of instantaneous real-time bandwidth.
The National Instruments USRP-2974 USRP Software Defined Radio Stand-Alone Device features a GPS-disciplined oscillator called GPSDO. When locked to GPS, the integrated oscillator can operate with up to 5 ppb frequency accuracy. The NI USRP-2974 device can be operated over an input voltage range of 14.25 V to 15.75 V DC and consumes around 10 A and 150 watts maximum. For Ethernet-based network communications, the USRP-2974 has 1 SFP+ 10G Ethernet port. A separate RJ45 type 1G Ethernet port is also provided for host connections. This device provides seamless and lag-free performance, since it comes equipped with 8 gigabytes of RAM.
