National Instruments WSN-3214 Strain/Bridge Node for WSN
Designed for National Instruments Wireless Sensors Networks, the NI WSN-3214 (Part Numbers: 781636-01, 781636-02, 150262C-04L) is a Strain/Bridge Node. The WSN-3214 offers 4 analog input channels. You can configure this Strain/Bridge Node for half-, full-, or quarter-bridge completion on a per-channel basis. Moreover, the NI WSN-3214 can be configured to provide strain gauge measurements. This Strain/Bridge Node allows you to define waveform size, sample rate, and waveform interval, since it comes with a flexible analog front end.
The high-resolution and high-speed analog input modes make the WSN-3214 an ideal solution for unique application requirements. Users can deploy this Strain/Bridge Node in a suitable orientation with the help of mounting accessories by NI. The NI WSN-3214 is deployed with other WSN devices that include a WSN gateway. In this system, signals are received and analyzed wirelessly. Each gateway can handle a maximum of 36 wireless nodes.
You can construct an NI WSN system by using a separate host PC running on Microsoft Windows or a CompactRIO Chassis. These operating systems can connect to a Wireless Network System to display status information, real-time measurements, as well as the configuration of the wireless node. You can mount your WSN-3214 Strain/Bridge Node on a 35 mm DIN rail or on a panel. Kit accessories to mount this Strain/Bridge Node can be acquired separately from National Instruments. This model is designed for wireless connectivity and has a provision to be operated by a battery. In its optimum configuration, the WSN-3214 requires a battery replacement or recharge once in three years. However, this device supports redundant supplies and can be powered through an external supply as well.
WSN-3214 Mature Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Strain/Bridge Node will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
