National Instruments 781475-01 Multifunction I/O Module
The National Instruments 781475-01 is a multifunction I/O module designed for high performance data acquisition and signal processing applications. This module is also known as the PXIe-6376. This module offers simultaneous sampling with eight differential analog input channels each featuring a 16 bit ADC resolution. The device supports a maximum single channel sample rate of 3.571 MS/s. The input range is adjustable between ±1 V and ±10 V with overvoltage protection up to ±36 V when the device is powered on.
The 781475-01 module features two analog output channels with a 16 bit DAC resolution and a maximum update rate of 3.3 MS/s per channel. The output range can be configured to ± 10 V or ± 5 V with options for external reference input through the APFI 0 terminal. The module’s analog output is designed for low noise operation with a full scale step settling time of 2 µs and glitch energy minimized to 6 nV·s at midscale transitions. These features make it ideal for applications that require precise signal generation such as test and measurement systems in telecommunications, ultrasound, sonar testing and high energy physics. The multifunction I/O module is equipped with 24 digital I/O channels that allow flexible configuration as input or output along with up to 16 programmable function interface (PFI) channels. These digital lines support high speed waveform acquisition and generation with a maximum clock frequency of 10 MHz. The model also includes four 32-bit general-purpose counters/timers which can perform various measurements such as edge counting, pulse width and frequency generation. The counters can operate with external base clocks up to 100 MHz.
The NI 781475-01 module utilizes onboard NI-STC3 timing technology for synchronization and triggering offering independent timing engines for analog and digital functions. It supports multiple trigger sources that include analog triggers on any of the eight AI channels and digital triggers from various PFI lines or PXI triggers. The device also features a phase locked loop (PLL) for clock synchronization that ensures accurate timing across multiple modules in a PXI Express system. The module is housed in a compact PXI Express form factor that makes it compatible with standard PXI Express or hybrid slots.
