National Instruments PXIe-6356 PXI Multifunction I/O Module

The PXIe6356 (Part Number: 781053-01) is a Multifunction I/O Module developed by National Instruments. This module can perform simultaneous-sampling, provides a new level of performance with the high-throughput PCI Express bus, and has an advanced timing and synchronization technology with the NI-STC3 system. The NI-STC3 system enables this module to perform re-triggerable measurement tasks.

The NI PXIe-6356 has 8 simultaneous analog inputs. These channels can operate at the maximum speed of 1.25MS/s per channel. This module has 16-Bit analog input resolution. It is also featured with digital and analog I/O’s. This module has 32-Bit counters and analog and digital triggering system It also includes digital and analog timing engines. The NI PXIe-6356 has such a robust design with screw terminal dimensions of 26.4 × 17.3 × 3.6 cm and BNC dimensions of 20.3 × 18.5 × 6.8 cm. The express level bandwidth is 250 MB/s maximum, in all directions to all devices. This module is also structured with an internal PCI Express interface, which helps optimize for low latency and high throughput.

The PXIe6356 is preferable for a number of applications, i.e. IF digitization, ultrasound, ADSL, ISDN, and POTS manufacturing test in the telecom industry. Furthermore, it is also best utilized for high-energy physics, sonar testing, and transient recording. The NI PXIe-6356 has a built-in multi-threaded NI-DAQmx driver. This driver makes the NI PXIe-6356 compatible with LabWindows/CVI 7.x and LabView 8.2. This module can also work with LabVIEW Signal Express 1.x, as well as Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and C/C++. The operating systems recommended are Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000.
