Spirent AT-9045B ATM DS3 SmartCard

The Spirent AT-9045B ATM DS3 SmartCard is a special network testing module operating at 45 Mbps, with one BNC interface. The SmartCard is designed for ATM and xDSL applications on the Spirent SmartBits platforms: SMB-10, SMB-200, and SMB-2000 chassis. The Spirent Communications-engineered AT-9045B is an enhanced version of its predecessor, the AT-9045, and comes with added functionalities to support monitoring and testing of ATM network systems against the Industry-standard RFC benchmarks.

Equipped with full-duplex, full-cell, and wire-rate testing, the AT-9045B tests ATM interoperability devices, LAN components, edge devices, and DSL systems. Their application is very varied. It can generate and analyze up to 2048 frames for applications featuring Permanent Virtual Circuits or Switched Virtual Circuits. The 40-port ATM test suite of the AT-9045B supports efficient performance for signaling applications. It provides 800 call initiations per second per port and as many as 8.38 million VCCs per port, offering comprehensive testing of ATM.

This SmartCard will be an indispensable tool in testing that requires network traffic generation, monitoring, and analysis. It supports the generation of packets from any port or group of ports, with a possibility to set the packet size, gaps, and contents, including any error conditions like collisions. This card will capture packets and measure latency while analyzing incoming traffic, all the time monitoring the error rates and packet loss. The AT-9045B also features three BNC output triggers that are selected and can connect to external equipment, including oscilloscopes or logic analyzers, for deep network behavior and signal integrity analysis. This high-capability functionality places the AT-9045B in the very top class of tools within engineering and testing environments.

For LANE, the AT-9045B is able to support 64 LANE clients, hence ensuring reliable performances for LANE test scenarios. It effectively measures latencies in SVC applications, therefore allowing for accurate analysis in Smart Signaling operations. Without any bundled software, as a SmartCard it ensures seamless integration with Spirent's test software suites, with maximum flexibility and functionality in the most sophisticated test setups.
