The SmartBits POS-3505AS, a product of Spirent Communications, is a scalable TeraMetrics Module. Having one port with the optical carrier standard OC-48c, the Spirent SmartBits POS-3505AS TeraMetrics Module is launched for performance monitoring of the Packet over Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) routers in low, normal, and high traffic to get an accurate and precise picture of the performance parameters. Detailed testing of the network devices by the SmartBits POS-3505AS TeraMetrics Module before their deployment in industries decreases the failure risk at the user end. Millions of server-to-client and client-to-server sessions can be simulated and emulated with the SmartBits POS-3505AS module.
The SmartBits POS-3505AS TeraMetrics Module is given with a single-port interface featuring a single-mode operation. The laser wavelength of the SmartBits POS-3505AS module port is 1310 nm. The SmartBits POS-3505AS module supports a line speed of 2.488 Gbps. The SmartBits POS-3505As TeraMetrics Module features different framing genres, i.e. OC-48c framing is used in SONET testing and STM-16c framing is performed in SDH networks. Capable of executing stream-based processing, the SmartBits POS-3505AS TeraMetrics Module evaluates up to 65,535 streams and generates up to 512 peer-to-peer independent IP streams.
The Spirent SmartBits POS-3505AS TeraMetrics Module supports frame-based transmission and receiving modes. In the transmission process, the SmartBits POS-3505AS module can perform in single-burst, multiple bursts, and continuous transmission modes. In receiving mode, the SmartBits POS-3505AS module can perform IP checksum error check and data integrity verification as well. In Capture mode, a line rate of 2.488 Gbps is supported by the SmartBits POS-3505AS module. The Spirent SmartBits POS-3505AS TeraMetrics Module is designed to work with the Spirent Smartbits SMB-6000B and SMB-600 Chassis.
