Spirent SmartBits® SMB-0200 Multi-Stream Performance Analysis System

The Spirent SMB-0200 is a high-capacity, compact-size multi-stream performance analyzer targeted for network equipment manufacturers, telecom providers, evaluation labs, and enterprise users. With the SMB-0200, customers have in their hands a box that is reliable, portable, and end-to-end in network testing, which can measure latency, throughput, and other critical performance metrics across complex hybrid networks. It provides, besides ATM and Frame Relay protocols, support for Ethernet at 10/100/1000 Mbps to meet the needs of even the most modern and high-performance networks.

Equipped with four SmartCard slots, the SMB-0200 allows for flexible configuration options to accommodate multi-ports and test configurations according to specific needs. Advanced automated tests are supported in the SMB-0200 in compliance with RFCs 1242, 1944, 2285, and 2432, ensuring consistent performance metrics across multiple network devices. The system is bundled with software like SmartWindow™, SmartLib™, and SmartApplications™, enabling the SMB-0200 to give real-time analysis, remote control, and automation of tests that will definitely save time and increase data accuracy in network diagnostics.

Connectivity options for the SMB-0200 include a 10 Mbps Ethernet port for easy integration with a host PC and remote operation with the use of either the Internet or an RS-232 port. Remote control adds to the versatility provided by the SMB-0200 in a distributed testing setup. Also, the SMB-0200 can be synchronized with GPS support for timing, which allows for the facilitation of one-way latency accurate measurements required in applications requiring high accuracy, such as telecom and financial trading networks.

The SMB-0200 has RJ-45 expansion ports that allow it to connect with other systems for the support of larger test setups. Such multi-chassis functionality provides synchronization for up to 512 SMB-0200 systems and ensures very extensive, multi-unit testing across large networks. With GPS timing-synchronized functionality, the SMB-0200 ensures very accurate latency and jitter measurements at the nanosecond level, hence solving very high demands across industries for strict timing control and data integrity.
