National Instruments SCB-100 Shielded Connector Block

The shielded I/O connector block SCB-100 (Part Numbers: 776990-01, 182788C-01) from National Instruments is made to interface I/O signals with 100-pin connector data acquisition devices. In industrial automation applications, this connector block ensures dependable signal transfer by enabling robust, low-noise signal termination. The SCB-100 is a shielded board with 100 screw terminals that interfaces easily with products like the AT-MIO-64E-3 and AT-MIO-16DE-10 that use the 0.050 series shielded D type I/O connector.

The SCB-100 makes signal wire connection easier with its 100 screw terminals, which include one No Connect (NC). The SCB-100 is perfect for using with thermocouples because it has a cold-junction compensation temperature sensor, which ensures precise temperature readings. With an amazing precision of ±0.5 °C, this temperature sensor outputs 10 mV/°C. Even without signal conditioning installed, the SCB-100 assures efficient operation with a just 10 mA of power consumption at +5 VDC ±5%.

In order to provide safe connections, the screw terminals handle wire gauges ranging from 14 AWG to 26 AWG and have a torque requirement of 0.5 N⋅m to 0.6 N⋅m (4 in.⋅lb to 5 in.⋅lb). The SCB-100 is a small but sturdy device, measuring 17.93 cm × 15.37 cm × 4.50 cm (7.06 in. × 6.05 in. × 1.77 in.) and weighing 897 g (1 lb 15.6 oz). It is appropriate for a variety of industrial settings due to its operating temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C and storage temperature range of -55 °C to 125 °C.

It also has a relative humidity range of 5% to 90% noncondensing. The SCB-100 supports various features including direct feedthrough mode, thermocouple measurements, open thermocouple detection, current input, filtering, and voltage dividers. All additional features are supported in direct feedthrough mode. It is required to set the DIP switches to direct feedthrough mode when utilizing the SCB-100.
