National Instruments TC-4353 PXI Module Terminal Block

The TC-4353 (Part Number: 782403-01) from National Instruments is a front-mounting PXI Module Terminal Block that is specifically designed to be used with the PXIe-4353 PXI Temperature Input Module. The NI PXIe-4353 is a highly accurate thermocouple input module that supports up to 32 thermocouple inputs, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of temperature measurement applications. It also features 8 cold-junction compensation (CJC) channels that provide improved accuracy for CJC, which is an essential component of thermocouple temperature measurement.

The TC-4353 terminal block is equipped with eight thermistors that provide CJC for thermocouples. This means that it measures the temperature of the junction for the thermocouple and applies a compensating voltage to the voltage measured by the thermocouple channel. This process helps to improve the accuracy of the overall thermocouple temperature measurement.

To ensure that the TC-4353 provides the highest accuracy possible, it is designed to measure the temperature of the adjacent thermocouple junctions for the CJC. This is performed using the CJC channels on the NI PXIe-4353 module. The thermistors on the TC-4353 are used to measure the CJC temperature for a subset of associated thermocouple channels. When you use the Thermocouple Channel-Type and select built-in for the CJC source, NI-DAQmx automatically associates the correct thermistor with the thermocouple measurements.

Installing the TC-4353 is a straightforward process. To mount it in the rack, simply install and tighten the four rack-mounting screws in the desired position. If the chassis is not already installed in the rack, you will need to attach the PXIe chassis rack-mount hardware to the NI PXIe chassis according to the rack-mount hardware instructions. Once this is complete, you can mount the PXIe chassis in the rack in the desired position.
