ERS-BIC Battery Test / Battery Simulation
The Heinzinger ERS-BIC Battery Test and Battery Simulation system is an advanced solution designed for R&D, quality assurance, and end-of-line (EOL) testing. This two-channel system is important for testing electric drive trains and simulating batteries because it regulates voltage, current, and power dynamically and ensures that source and sink modes switch on and off instantly. Its energy recovery mechanism, which transforms DC electricity into AC and feeds it back into the grid, results in a significant reduction in running expenses.
The ERS-BIC system is ideal for testing hybrid vehicle energy systems, electric drives, energy storage emulation (such as SuperCaps, NiMH, and Li-ion batteries), converters, electrical components, and more. In order to provide controlled source and load operation with seamless mode transitions, it can operate as both a highly dynamic DC source and load. The system can simulate battery behavior thanks to integrated internal resistance control, which qualifies it for battery replacement applications.
The system produces electrical separation between the DC output and the mains by design, using output relays and protective diodes for device and DUT safety. Due to the high dynamic digital control system's provision of calibration upon delivery, it automatically optimizes power, current, and voltage regulation in response to load conditions.
For convenience of use locally, the ERS-BIC system is controlled via a 10.4" color IR touch screen; remote control is achievable through an EtherCAT or CAN bus interface. Safe shutdown in the event of a problem is guaranteed by the system's communication time-out monitoring. The ERS-BIC also allows for power multiplication due to its water-cooling capabilities and parallel operation possibilities. A dual-channel interlock safety loop for cross-fault detection and an emergency stop feature are among its safety features. With an inbuilt resistance control that can be adjusted between 0 and 5 Ohms with a high resolution of 0.1 mOhm, this system offers accurate battery modelling.
