NH Research 9300-500 High-Voltage Battery Test System
The NH Research NHR 9300-500 High-Voltage Battery Test System is a fast-acting, fully programmable, bi-directional DC source for high-precision testing of batteries, fuel cells, ultra-capacitors, and other energy storage devices. This flexible system may function as a regenerative DC load (discharge) and source (charge) since it allows reverse current flow and supports continuous power, voltage, and current regulation restrictions. It is extensively utilized in applications for grid storage, heavy industry, automobiles, aircraft, universities, and standards certification labs. Common uses include charge/discharge cycles, battery emulation, and battery charger testing.
With a 500kW rating, the NHR 9300-500 can support up to 1665A at 600V and +835A at 1200V and operates in a dual voltage range of 600V and 1,200V. By synchronously operating additional 100kW cabinets in simultaneously, its modular and scalable architecture enables growth from 100kW to 2.4MW, making it flexible enough to accommodate both lower and greater power requirements. This system, in contrast to specially designed systems, provides maximum flexibility and complete power from 300V to 1,200V+, making it appropriate for a variety of testing circumstances.
Precision measurement capabilities of the NHR 9300-500 include 1-MS/s digitization of analog measurement signals. As a result, voltage, current, amp-hours, and watt-hours are continuously and highly-resolutionly monitored. Synchronized voltage and current data are available for download for additional analysis, enabling access to the system's advanced measuring functionalities, including battery state analysis.
Two important aspects of the NHR 9300-500 are its safety and reliability. In order to send alerts to the controlling device when needed, the system continually monitors performance metrics such measurement ambiguities, under/over-range circumstances, heatsink temperatures, and grid frequency restrictions. Its remote power-off input, manual emergency switch, interlock input, and configurable trip limits guarantee safe operation. When the system detects a trip, interlock, or emergency power-off, it safely isolates itself from the Unit Under Test (UUT) and stops the power supply. The NHR 9300-500 has a wide range of control options. It can be used with battery test software like NI's BTS or NHR's Enerchron, or it can be integrated with NI products like LabVIEW and VeriStand.
