National Instruments 781156-01 CompactDAQ Chassis

The National Instruments 781156-01 CompactDAQ Chassis is a part of the cDAQ‑9178 Model series, which offers a stable platform for small-scale sensor measurement systems. This chassis's USB interface makes it easy for sensors and electrical measures to be included, providing customers with plug-and-play simplicity. It functions as the main hub for managing data transfer, synchronization, and timing between external hosts and C Series I/O modules.

A wide range of C Series I/O modules can be installed in this chassis, enabling customers to build unique configurations suited to their unique measurement requirements. It provides flexibility in capturing various kinds of data thanks to support for counter/timer measurements, digital I/O, and analog I/O. The chassis includes eight slots, which gives plenty of room for installing modules while keeping the form factor small enough for portable applications.

The 781156-01 chassis provides 50 ppm timing precision and 12.5 ns timing resolution for analog input, with a maximum sample rate that is controlled by the associated C Series I/O modules. With hardware-timed tasks and onboard regeneration for up to 16 channels, analog output capabilities allow for a maximum update rate of 1.6 MS/s. Additionally supported are non-regeneration and non-hardware-timed jobs, with the installed C Series I/O modules dictating the degree of flexibility.

Four 32-bit general-purpose counters/timers are also installed on the chassis, allowing for a variety of measurements and output uses, including frequency division and pulse generating. Precise synchronization and triggering functionalities are ensured by its various internal and external base clocks and flexible input and digital trigger routing options.

The 781156-01 CompactDAQ chassis supports high-performance data streams across seven different types, including digital input, digital output, counter/timer input, counter/timer output, and NI-XNET. It does this over a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface. This improves overall system flexibility and interoperability by enabling smooth interface with external devices and software tools.
