The 783129-01, also known as the PXIe-4080, is a high-performance, six-and-a-half-digit PXI digital multimeter manufactured by National Instruments. It provides accurate measuring solutions for a range of industrial and laboratory applications by fusing the capabilities of a high-resolution DMM with a digitizer. This multipurpose tool performs exceptionally well in terms of speedy and precise AC/DC voltage and current measurements, 2- or 4-wire resistance measurements, frequency/period measurements, and diode testing.
With a DC voltage input bias current of less than 30 pA at 23 °C and an ADC linearity of 0.5 ppm of reading plus 1 ppm of range, the 783129-01 performs remarkably well in its DMM mode. With DC and 100 ms aperture, its effective common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) is more than 140 dB, and with high-order DC noise rejection, it can reach over 170 dB. By doing this, the instrument is guaranteed to retain its excellent accuracy even in noisy settings.
The 783129-01 has both AC and DC coupling options and a parallel 150 pF input impedance for measuring AC voltage. With a typical CMRR of over 70 dB from DC to 60 Hz, it gives a maximum DC voltage component of 250 V and a maximum volt-hertz product of 2.2 x 10^7 V-Hz. With an accuracy standard that adds 20 ppm of reading to the 10 VDC voltage specifications, the diode test functionality comprises a range of 10 V and test currents of 1 µA, 10 µA, 100 µA, and 1 mA.
Utilizing sample rates as high as 1.8 MS/s, the 783129-01 can also be used as a standalone digitizer to capture waveforms. The voltage and current ranges it supports are ±100 mV to ±300 V and ±20 mA to ±1 A, respectively. Formula r = (1.8 MS/s) / y, where y varies from 1 to 180000, is used to determine the available sample rates. With a minimum record length of two samples and no maximum, contingent upon available memory, this flexibility for comprehensive analysis and recording of high-speed data.
