National Instruments 781742-01 PXI Source Measure Unit

The part number 781742-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the PXIe-4140 PXI Source Measure Unit. This module features 4 channels capable of sinking and sourcing current of up to ±100 mA and voltage of up to ±10 Volts. Each channel is user-programmable and can measure voltage with a resolution of 100 µV and a current resolution of 100 pA. The voltage measurement accuracy of this module is ±0.1% with an offset of 5.0 mV while the current accuracy is also ±0.1% with a varying range of offset, depending on the current value being measured. 

The 781742-01 module has a settling time of 100 µs allowing it to produce a stable output as well as stabilize the module when in sinking mode. It also has a transient response time of 100 µs or less to recover within ±20 mV after a load current change. The module can be installed and operated in the PXI Express chassis which allows it to utilize the PXIe interface allowing it to transfer data at a high speed as well as synchronize its clock with other connected and compatible modules. The module can be operated at 12 Volts rail, drawing approximately 600 mA current or 3.3 Volts, while drawing 350 mA current. 

The manufacturer recommends operating the module in an environment with a temperature between 0 degrees Celsius and 55 degrees Celsius to avoid affecting the performance of the module due to extreme temperature conditions. To store the module for a long term without affecting its performance, it is recommended to store the module in an environment with an ambient temperature between -40 degrees Celsius and 70 degrees Celsius. 

The 781742-01 module does not feature an Ingress Protection rating to protect the module from dust and water hence, it is recommended to install the device in its compatible PXIe chassis to protect the module from environmental factors. The module should be mounted at a maximum altitude of 2,000 meters with a maximum atmospheric pressure of 800 millibars. This module has a pollution degree rating of 2 meaning only non conductive pollution occurs.
