National Instruments 785114-01 PXI Waveform Generator
Part Number 785114-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments PXIe-5413 PXI Waveform Generator. The 785114-01 features referenced single-ended type output channels which also contain a 16-bit DAC. The module can output sine waveforms with frequencies ranging from 0 MHz to 20 MHz with a frequency step size of 2.84 µHz. Similarly, it can also output square waveform with a frequency range of 0 MHz to 10 MHz and the same frequency step. Furthermore, for ramp and triangle waveforms, the frequency ranges from 0 MHz to 1 MHz whereas for a user-defined function, it has the same frequency range and step size as the sine waveform. Lastly, for arbitrary waveform, the waveform size can range from 2 samples to 64 million samples.
The 785114-01 uses an internal clock as the reference clock. The reference clock has a frequency of 100 MHz while the sample clock rate has a frequency of 800 MHz. The 785114-01 also features 10 PFI terminals. PFI 0 and PFI 1 use the SMA-type connector while the AUX 0, and PFI<0..7> terminals use the MHDMR connector. It uses a +3.3 V logic level and the maximum input voltage supported is +5 V. The frequency range in PFI I/O is 0 MHz to 25 MHz. The 785114-01 draws 2.3 A of current from a +3.3 V rail and 1.8 A of current from a +12 V. The total power consumed is 29 W. Calibration of the module can take place through two methods: self-calibration, which is done through software, and external calibration, where appropriate constants are stored in nonvolatile memory.
The 785114-01 is recommended for operation between temperatures of 0 °C to 55 °C at a relative humidity of 10% to 90%. On the other hand, it can be stored at a much wider range of -40 °C to 71 °C at a relative humidity of 5% to 95%. Furthermore, the device is designed only for indoor use and may require mounting inside a sealed enclosure for outdoor use. Moreover, the maximum recommended altitude for the operation of the device is 2000 m.
